American Academy of Acupuncture
and Oriental
Medicine moves to new Roseville campus
ROSEVILLE, Minn. -- After searching for three years, the faculty and staff at the
American Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (AAAOM) happily moved to its
Roseville campus which is located at 1925 County Road B-2.
The building is located on the northwest corner, near Rosedale Shopping Center and
offers a quiet, natural setting with urban surroundings. The campus is easily accessible
from Highways 35W and 36. The first stage of development has been completed for the
campus building. It includes the development of four classrooms with break areas,
twelve treatment rooms, two consultation rooms, four offices, and a conference room.
Of distinction is the college's beautiful Chinese herbal pharmacy, with 380 raw herbs
stored in the traditional manner, using ancient herbal cabinets. Also of note is
the library, built to house the most complete TCM literature collection in the United
States, with over 100 acupuncture and Chinese medicine journals and 5000 acupuncture
and Chinese medicine textbooks. All treatment rooms and classrooms reflect a traditional
Chinese art decor.
The school and clinic have officially started their operation from
November 1, 2001. Three open houses are planned for the grand opening
of the new campus and winter trimester of 2002: Sunday, November 18;
Saturday, December 1; and Sunday, December 15, 2001, from 2:00 PM
to 5:00 PM. Everyone is welcome to the celebration, community
and free informational seminars.
Grand opening for day spa
OAKDALE, Minn. -- Body Rhythms Therapeutic Day Spa and Salon recently moved to a
new location with expanded facilities in Bergen Plaza in Oakdale and will celebrate
its Grand Opening the first week in December. During that week, Body Rhythms is offering
complementary skin care consultations, makeovers, and 10-minute massage samples.
The day spa and salon acknowledged National Spa Awareness month in November by hosting
women from Dakota Woodlands Homeless Shelter to a day of service at the spa. Linda
Ruberto, Body Rhythms owner, chose the Dakota Woodlands Shelter to work with because
of their impressive results. This year, 190 of the 200 women and children at the
shelter secured permanent housing.
"We provide massage, facial treatments, makeup consultation, hair and nail services
and visit the shelter or host a group at the spa several times each year," Ms.
Ruberto said. "Last month we collected donations of skincare and cosmetic products
that we will demonstrate and distribute at Dakota Woodlands in December. We also
have a 'jeans day' the first Saturday of each month at the spa for employees who
donate a portion of their sales or volunteer services."
She added that "a day spa isn't just a place where wealthy patrons luxuriate,
but a comfortable retreat from the everyday stressors for people of all walks of
life." She and her employees show their commitment to this belief by donating
their services to women who need a chance to relax and prepare for changes in their
lifestyles.
