March 1-12 can be a time of leaping forth into the new -- for those people who are ready for it. Many old and stagnant situations could be turned around now, but there is a strong likelihood of many chances being missed and many opportunities not being taken. It is often the case that people yearn for release from things that hold them back and confine them, but when presented with the chance to escape, they don't take it.

Why is this the case? Because we become so accustomed to our restrictions and problems, they become sources of security for us. But, if you are sincere about wanting to improve situations in your life, you can during these first 12 days of March, and you can receive much support from the universe for any attempts you make in this direction.

From March 13-27, there will be abrupt awakenings to many things that have been formerly hidden. Much of what has been repressed escapes from wherever we have hidden it and intrudes into the light of day, forcing us to look at it. This is a time when we can see things for what they really are, and when any illusions or fantasies we have concerning our reality are swept away, revealing the truth.

Mars spends all but the first day of the month in Taurus. Mars in Taurus has the ability to remain on track in whatever it is doing, regardless of what complications arise, and no matter whatever diverse things other people are doing. The negative side of Mars in Taurus is that there is a tendency now for people not to listen to each other, and to be so intent on their own trip that they blindly adhere to their own interests rather than recognize the needs of others.

Taurus is the sign of dogma, and Mars in Taurus can mean a conflict between dogmas. To override the negative potential of Mars in Taurus, all of us need to make an extra effort to listen to the other side, to hear the opinions of others, and to respect where they are coming from -- even if it is radically different from our beliefs.

On March 9, Venus goes into Aries and is there for the rest of the month. Venus in Aries experiences relationships as an adventure, and it brings excitement to the process of people interconnecting with each other. It can also mean that we are finding new ways of relating and entering into uncharted territory in the realm of relationship.

The New Moon, whose influences last from March 14 until April 12, is in the 24th degree of Pisces. This is a time when our inner energies can be very stirred up. Pressure valves can go off and inner explosions can happen. Sometimes getting to where we are going is a slow, gradual process, but at other times, like now, it more involves the igniting of a spark that can blast barriers away, allowing us to make lightning-swift progress. Patience can be a virtue, but there comes a time when it's time to forget patience, and, by following our impulses, to reach out and grab our heart's desires.

The planets Chiron and Jupiter are approaching their opposition (which will be exact in April) and throughout March the energy of the Chiron/Jupiter combination is felt. This energy gives us the ability to access our own pasts and futures more readily -- not just in terms of remembering them, but by actually bringing those energies into our own present. We may not even be aware we are doing this, but the end result is that we have more freedom, and any limitations we thought we were not able to overcome can soften and actually melt away.

From March 25-28, the effects of the full Moon in Libra are felt. (The actual full Moon is 12:26 p.m. March 28). March 25-28 is a time of being more aware of everything that has gone wrong and of remembering valuable things that have been lost. It's a time of picking through old stuff to see what can be retrieved, and/or to come to an understanding of what actually did go wrong so that the same mistakes won't be repeated again.

What is needed now is to separate that which is worthless from those things we can use and want to hold on to. In the process of doing this we might need to sift through some unsavory memories and experiences to get to the gold.

Certainly March is not a month of waiting, and it's not a time when energy is stagnating. We are all being impacted with highly dynamic forces now that can shatter old blockages -- and reawaken our spiritual urges.
