The Edge Interview with
Nikki de Carteret
by
Tim Miejan
Nikki de Carteret's spiritual journey began when she took up meditation at the age
of 18 to find inner calm and balance. As a student in Paris, she went through a dramatic
"out of body experience" and encounter with the Light that altered the
course her life. The author of "Soul Power," Nikki spoke with The EDGE
about the spiritual path. |
The
Chakras of the Infosphere
Exploring the Chakras as Communications Centers
by Steven R. Vedro
I believe that our
all-encompassing electronic communications web is both a reflection of human creative
consciousness, and it is also a field through which consciousness moves. Each form
of the global Infosphere resonates with a different aspect of our chakra system.
Each carries the light and shadow of the human spirit, and each offers us a mirror
to our personal and cultural liberation. |

I am constantly
challenging myself to improve my game. I become frustrated with my results on "bad

Mercury
Retrograde
Inside Astrology |
by Bill Herbst
Mercury goes retrograde
again from August 9 to September 2. The effects of this summer dance began back on
July 21, nearly three weeks ago when Mercury was still direct but passed over the
point in the zodiac to which it will later retrograde back. I call that initial period
the "set-up phase" of the retrograde loop.

In
Search of Faith -- Part 2
by
Marilyn Tokach
My beloved German
Shepherd died just shy of her 13th birthday. In mourning her loss, I spoke to an
animal communicator who told me that Gretta would come back to me. At the time, the
idea of reincarnation was something I was just opening up to, but I didn't really
want to invite more heartbreak into my life by getting another dog. The thought of
reuniting with Gretta only to outlive her once again was unbearable.

Fahrenheit
9/11
The
Movie Mystic
| by Stephen Simon
I can hear some
of you saying to yourselves, "Wait, Fahrenheit 9/11? How is that Spiritual Cinema?"
Well, neither, in my opinion, was The Passion, but BOTH films have become cultural
phenomena that must be addressed. There is another aspect of 9/11 that I will discuss
at the end of this review that is, I believe, directly applicable to Spiritual Cinema;
moreover, like The Passion, 9/11 has an audience appeal that took the old-paradigm
film business by surprise -- and by storm.

Use the mind/body connection to gain happiness
and lose weight without dieting!
by
Robin L. Silverman
Jeanne was frustrated.
"I've tried every diet there is. High carb, low carb, no carb, portion control,
counting calories -- I hate them all. The more I try to restrict what I eat, the
more weight I gain!"
"There's a secret reason and a not-so-secret reason why that's so," I said.
"Oh, yeah?" she snapped.
The
Gift
by
Angela Hutchinson
It was May 1996,
when the pediatrician told me, "I keep hearing this murmur." She was speaking
about my, then 6-month-old son, Alec. I told her he had been tested at 10 days old
because of this "murmur" and they said he was fine.

Health
Freedom Advocates Gather for National Conference
ST. PAUL -- The National Health Freedom Coalition presents the second annual
National Conference for Health Freedom Advocates September 10-12 at the Carondelet
Center at the College of St. Catherine's in St. Paul.
Participants can learn how to be an activist, for health freedom or other causes.
Experienced leaders will provide workshop training in how to mobilize the grass roots,
how to bring a bill to the legislature, and how to lobby. There will be presentations
on building membership for your organization, cultivating relationships with large
donors, and the basics of websites and databases. Health freedom leaders from around
the nation will be in attendance.
Friday night keynote speaker Norman Shealy, M.D., is the founder of the American
Holistic Medical Association. As a former surgeon, and later as a leading medical
doctor in the field of energy medicine, as well as a board member of National Health
Freedom Coalition, Dr. Shealy brings an invaluable history and perspective to the
Health Freedom movement. He will speak on "The Freedom to Care for the Patient."
Congressman Berkley Bedell, instrumental in founding the Office of Alternative Medicine
at the National Institutes of Health, is the keynote speaker on Saturday night. Congressman
Bedell says that his Lyme disease was cured by alternative medicine, sparking an
interest that has led to the founding of the National Foundation for Alternative
Medicine, which is sending teams around the world, finding treatments which will
revolutionize the way disease is treated worldwide.
Attorney Diane Miller will give a keynote address on Friday afternoon, entitled "Regulation
of Health Care Practitioners: Its Impact on Health Freedoms." Ms Miller successfully
helped to defend Minnesota farmer Herb Saunders from charges of "practice of
medicine without a license." She then proceeded to design health freedom legislation
for the State of Minnesota together with Minnesota Natural Health Legal Reform Project.
The result was the consumer-driven law entitled the Minnesota Complementary and Alternative
Health Care Freedom of Access Act. In 2001, Miller founded the National Health Freedom
Coalition, a national information resource, to support and train individuals and
groups in states that are interested in health freedom.
Dan Haley author of Politics in Healing, also will speak about what he has discerned
to be 12 of the most blatant crimes against letting the truth about healing be known
in our country. Attorney Deborah Miller, president of Florida Health Freedom, and
former Florida Supreme Court Justice Arthur England will address the gathering Sunday
morning on "Legal Avenues to Protect Health Freedom."
