Healing Our Planet! What We Each Can Do!
by Cathy Combs

What we each can do? How I love that question! The invitation is so very clear and so very open. Step into the magic, mystery and power. Claim our divine heritage as calm, confident and ever-so-capable. The potential is there. The ability may be hidden, if not yet used.

Remember that story about holding the metal to the fire. The glinting steel is awaiting the fire of transformation -- the focus of intention, the faithfulness of our undivided effort. Can you even imagine how much you can do?

I have looked back at times in my life from where I currently stand at any given moment and so very often thought that I never could've imagined the specifics of what I'm currently doing. What I did know is that I wanted to do good work, to heal the pain I saw and felt all around me. I knew I would commit to doing my best! Where that would lead I had no idea. I just set out! I trusted good would come and good would be done and it certainly did come, and it was done!

What I know unflinchingly now is that my task is to do what I love and enjoy. Done in that spirit, it's not a task; it's fun and it is a gift and a profound joy. That same invitation and outcome is open to you, as well.

I remember being told as a 17 year old that I'd make a great teacher. I remember the feeling of that day. I was prepared and I was comfortable and honored for the opportunity -- and I was scared. I appreciated the acknowledgment of my preparation and my potential. Today I appreciate the truth of Einstein's statement, "Chance favors the prepared mind."

What that means to me today is that we always have chances to do good works. We simply need to give ourselves the opportunity by doing the work and getting prepared. That is what I continue to do to this day. I clarify what brings me joy and I find a place to get involved, to hone my skills and share my love and my gifts. I continue to develop the skills to say the difficult things in compassionate and clear ways. I continue to create and provide win-win situations for all present. I continue to move through the wounding of the past so I can live joyfully in the present. I forgive myself and those involved for what we didn't know back then.

I come back to this step as often as needed until I can transform that moment and let it go for good. I trust that my Highest Self meant that experience for good, not for pain. The ego doesn't like that lesson; the ego doesn't even necessarily trust that lesson, but my Highest Self knows the Truth of that lesson. As I focus on that Truth, I loosen ego's grip on a painful illusion of so-called "reality." It helps me to smilingly remember that ego thrives on illusion and separation and that my Highest Self is faithfully inviting me to fulfill a higher destiny in this present moment, calling me to inhabit the integrity of my Highest, Highest Self.

It is within reach! It is within -- period! Sometimes I forget the blatantly obvious. Sometimes I forget to look within, because I listen to old, worn-out messages. I'm laying new patterns in my soul every day as I focus my attention on the gifts of my Highest Self. That gift of awareness is so precious. That gift of attention to intention is equally precious. That's how I change the past and write a new present and future. That is how I bring healing to myself and to my whole, entire world.

Blessings of healing and peace as we all embrace the everpresent love of our Highest Self.
